So, you already know how to make stuning videos with great cinematography, edited to the score, with some stylish animation… but do you know how to make an effective commercial for a business?
As with people, it’s not just about looks, all style but no substance. To make a great advertisement that drives sales, you’re going to need to learn a little marketing.
I started out like you, with a lot of video production under my belt, but very little advertising experience. I had to learn the hard way, but you don’t have to. Let me put my 15+ years of experience in video production and marketing to work for you.
This is just the intro to a series I am writing to help take the mystery out of putting together an ad that does what the client wants: drive customers to their business. I will explain how to get the right information from the client, some structural concepts to writing a script, and even a few tips to shooting footage of products and locations.
It may seem daunting, but with a little forethought and some guidelines, you can capture the audience’s attention and make the client’s business top-of-mind.
